ABOUT ME

Alina Asayonak

A visual artist, interior photographer, brand owner.

Over the past five years, I worked as a freelance graphic designer and a full-time remote illustrator. This journey has allowed me to put my artistic skills to practical use and continue my creative growth. I followed my passion and ended up doing interior photography combined with running my own candle brand.

ME AS A CREATIVE BRAND OWNER

I immersed myself in a multitude of roles and responsibilities. In just one year, I learned the craft of candle making by myself and turned my ideas into a product that I sell to clients and concept shops. I handled everything from developing a product, photography and packaging design to creating digital and printed marketing materials. I also gained valuable experience communicating with clients, participating in design market, teaching workshops, and organising collaborative workshop with other studios. I also managed all the day-to-day operations, from sourcing materials to handling shipping logistics. You can learn more about my approach and inspiration in this interview for Crafters Of Today.

ME AS A PHOTOGRAPHER

I use film and digital cameras in my work. My passion lies in capturing the beauty of minimal spaces flooded with natural light and distinctive furniture & architecture combined with nature. My photography style is deeply intuitive, with minimal touches of editing. The images are usually grounded, deep, and in natural tones. I’m always happy to shoot unique interiors, nature, sustainable brand products and wellness spaces.

MY BACKGROUND

I studied at the College of Art and the Academy of Art in Belarus, where I had the opportunity to explore various creative disciplines, including photography (both analogue and digital), visual brand identity, painting, drawing, composition, magazine and book design, as well as colour theory. Those eight years in a creative learning environment provided me with a strong foundation and cultivated my keen eye for detail and beauty.
